It takes just a little bit more time to get a horse ready to take hiking.....Back around the end of April I brought home Abrigo from the Creswell Oregon area.....He has been a ball of fun....a lot of hard work...but lots of fun times also.....He is quiet the character.....A big lippy hairy beast.....Because we have intentions to try to pack with him this summer we needed to get him out and see how he reacted away from home and make sure his pack fit.....Saturday was packed with plans since family was in town to visit....So we planned for a early short hike....We have been to the Beaver Creek area many times....Mostly Horse camping at Lighting Creek Campground area....It is a great horse camping area...very well set up....lots of large turn around areas for trailers and easy access to the trails....That is if you have enough muscle to open the barb wire gate....That takes some serious arm strength...Apparently I didn't eat enough wheaties....I wimped out
Hiking is a way of life
