After we left the Mad River Trail we traveled up the road to the Silver Falls Trail head. It is a lovely drive to the trail head, such a beautiful area. The trail head parking area still had some lingering snow piled up, a little chilly, which made it pleasant for hiking the up hill trail. I have hiked this trail many times, but it has been years since the last time we visited. My family used to come up almost every year to stay the day with my Aunt and Uncle while they camped and us kids would hike the trails and wear ourselves out prior to heading home. The trail has had a lot of improvements since our last visit. The rock walls, nice wide pathways, and railings are all new features to me. I thought that years ago we actually walked under the falls, but it would appear that most of the ground has eroded since then. It is a very pleasant hike, a little bit of a climb but worth the views up and down both sides and the falls were running pretty good the day we visited. Not a ...
