Horseshoe Basin.....Day II

4th of July weekend day two was a beautiful day weather wise. Woke up to blue skies, lots of clouds, it had lightly rained through the night so everything was slightly damp, and lush green. After a nice hot breakfast of hash browns, with a little bit of bacon thrown in we were off to explore. The year before we headed to the lake, this year after sitting and watching Horseshoe basin for animals for a little bit we decided to head a different direction. So up towards Pick Peak and the ridge that faces Windy Peak. Wow what a beautiful sight, I could have spent days watching the clouds roll in and out. We were the only ones out on the ridge, so many mountains views. We spotted a bear and a couple of deer in one of the lower basins. It was a great place to spend most of our afternoon until the dark clouds started rolling in and with a forecast of rain we wanted to be back at camp before we got soaked.
