It has been a very busy, crazy, emotional couple weeks since the Carlton Complex wildfire came through Pateros Washington. We have been busy making arrangements for clean up, finding a place to live this winter and slowly recovering. Every day it seems like there is something new you realize is missing, camera battery charger, card reader, zip drive...on and on...and those are the simple things that are easy to replace. These pictures are from Memorial day weekend in May. Every year our church has a group camp out that is held in the Lost Lake area, outside of Tonasket. Since I had family visiting I drove up to visit and enjoy the day with them. Two of my sisters and my sweet nephew took a short easy hike/walk down to the Big Tree Trail. The trail is very well laid out and has nice wide paths, which made it nice for a stroller. The ground under the trees was covered with orchids, beautiful delicate flowers. It is a nice pleasant, fairly flat trail, with some very large trees scattered out among some baby trees. The small larchs with the soft needles are gorgeous, its very hard to not fondle them. Beautiful short trail, makes for a great place to stretch your legs, either while camping in the area or as a side trip.
